The SHRM Foundation is a value-based charity organization whose mission is to champion workforce and workplace transformation by providing scholarships to educate and develop HR professionals and students to make change happen, presenting opportunities for HR professionals to make a difference in their local communities, and developing research-based HR solutions for challenging inclusion issues facing employees and potential employees. The SHRM Foundation was founded in 1966 and is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organizational affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management. Initiatives for 2020 includeempowering HR professionals to attract, hire and retain veterans, helping employers confidently hire individuals with a criminal background, leveraging the talent of the aging workforce, and strengthen the skills and abilities of professionals to hire, develop, advance and retain individuals with disabilities in their workplace.
The SHRM Foundation relies heavily on donations from State Counsels and Local Chapters to fulfill its mission as described above. Therefore, this Chapter has decided to integrate a fundraiser into our largest annual outreach both to raise as much money as possible while creating awareness for the Foundation.
